Lyft And Uber Settlement Payout

In New York, Attorney General Letitia James announced a deal with Uber and Lyft that will give millions of dollars in back pay to some drivers and extra benefits, like sick pay, to all active drivers of these services in the state. This is good news for drivers of these services.

The company in charge of the payout, Rust Consulting, is sending letters to drivers and has started the claims process as of March 7, 2024. They say that you have to file a claim in order to get money from a settlement.

The last day to file a claim is July 29, 2024. You should stay away from anyone who offers to help you file a claim for the Lyft and Uber Settlement Payout. It is possible to make fake email addresses, phone numbers, and caller IDs look like the real deal.

Lyft And Uber Settlement Amount

The state attorney general looked into a wage-theft claim that said Uber and Lyft took certain taxes and fees from drivers instead of passengers. The companies then agreed to pay $328 million to settle the case with New York drivers.

Uber will pay $290 million and Lyft will put $38 million into two pools. About 100,000 current and past drivers in New York State can file claims. The deal, which was made public on Thursday, did not say that the ride-hailing companies were responsible.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York City has long said that all taxi drivers must get at least the minimum wage and paid time off. James says that Uber and Lyft drivers will get $17 an hour in sick pay, which takes inflation into account.
